Kevan And The Black Country Sons is an original contemporary blues band. The sound incorporates slide guitar and mandolin along side: an electric guitar and acoustic guitar, with drum and bass grooves.
The band was established in the Black Country in 2020, drawing from influences from the 70s. Kevan And The Black Country Sons released their debut album on 3rd December 2021, showing a wide range of styles and flavours that make up the sound of their music. The band also performs some songs that includes a few traditional classic blues covers.

We are celebrating Black Country Day at The Trumpet. We will be playing two songs that I have written Black Day Red Night; the good, the bad and the ugly about the Black Country. The second song that I have written is celebrating JBs called JamBoree Sam. A night of contemporary and classic blues along with some blues rock.

Artist Kevan and the Black Country Sons based in West Midlands, US, released an epic alternative folk song called ‘Mr. Johnson’, that will make your morning and nights like a spicy dream. Released on the 7th of March, the song is elegant and full of joy, a great dedication to the late blues artist and musician Robert Johnson. This is an amazing debut with high quality music production, well written lyrics by the artist, a and a great concept and vision of encouraging people to follow their dreams no matter how hard it is to get there.
The song is magical in every way possible. It’s so sophisticated and radiant with infectious positive and good vibes. It’s a sunny patch of golden strings. The overall sound of the song is an upbeat fusion of country blues and even a little bit of jazz and rock. The musical arrangement is fantastic, with a sexy, high energy melody, fast and playful piano, shaking sound effects in the background with lots of smooth groovy electric guitar, and symbolic moving cymbals. You’ve also got some tune humming in the melody in both male and female vocals that really upgrade the song. You will enjoy lots of sophistication with this song and a really good vibe that will shine through any sad or depressed soul.
The album on blue Vinyl will be available on the Friday 3 June 2022.
The song Rainmaker will be recorded on Wednesday 13 April, which will feature on the second album.
The new song No Words Can Say will have a string quartet arrangement on the song on Sunday 20 February to complete the recording. Liviu has done an amazing job on arranging and performing the string quartet..
The song Sticks & Stones will be featuring Paddy on slide guitar and lead guitar; it sounds incredible. I will be putting down the rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Simon will be contributing on the drums. The recording will be complete. Both songs should be at the stage of a first mix on Sunday 20 February. However, the final mix and mastering of all the songs on my second album will be done when all the songs have been recorded.
Rainmaker will be the title of album number two. The first two songs to be recorded are: Sticks & Stones and No Words Can Say on Thursday 30 December.
